Popcorn Word Focus: and (2nd time)
We will revisit sight words a second time so the children get more practice learning them.  
 Kinderliteracy: The Three Bears
Today, the kids will hear the familiar story, The Three Bears. At the conclusion of the story, the kids will get the chance to talk about what they saw, who was in the story, and retell the main events.
This week we will focus on Story Elements: Characters, Setting, and Retell.

Kindermath: Read and Write 9
Today's lesson focuses on the number 9 and how we can look at it in a 10-Frame. 
Do you see 5 and 4? 6 and 3? 2 and 7?, etc. The children will also work on counting on from a number other than one.
Music Class Today
~We now have a bakery play center in our classroom. The kids will be working hard to make bakery goods!
~It looks like the kids had a blast at their Halloween Party!

~You may or may not have known that I was absent all last week and will be this week as well. I have been quite ill and am on the road to recovery. I look forward to seeing my littles again! Please reach out to me by email if you need anything.

This lesson will help the children work on what comes next in a variety of pattern sequences. They will use manipulatives from our classroom to create these patterns and build a pattern that their partner has to complete.
 



Project: What Will My Teacher Be For Halloween?
The kids will each decide what costume they think I should wear for Halloween and create it. Oh, my...what will they come up with?

~ Again, I am looking forward to visiting with those of you who are scheduled for conferences tonight and tomorrow.
~No school tomorrow for elementary students only.

Kindermath: Identify Patterns
The kids will work with colored cubes to create patterns as well as doing a variety of body movements. (stomp, clap, clap    clap, wave, clap, wave.) 

 Phy Ed Today
 
Every week, your child will receive an issue of Time for Kids. It's a great way for the kids to see the world through this magazine. Your child will bring it home for you to enjoy with them.

~ I am looking forward to visiting with those of you who are scheduled for conferences this evening. 
~ Be sure to stop in at the Book Fair if you can! 
~Because of all day conferences on Wednesday, October 20, there will not be school for elementary students.

~Monday's main lunch option has been changed to French Toast Sticks.
