Project: The kids will make Mrs. Wishy Washy's headpiece in order to BECOME HER! We are ALL going to become her in order to do some scrubbing of our classroom. The kids will get aprons to wear and plenty of water to use in order to get the job done! They will be doing a chant to help squeeze out the excess water in their rags:
Wishy washy, wishy washy, shake-shake-shake.

**Other Mrs. Wishy Washy activities today include:
~Mrs. Wishy Washy reader (can sight word)
~The animals always say, "Oh lovely mud." How would you describe mud?
~Write the word the animals said about the mud. (lovely)

We are learning about the Memorial Day holiday means today.Image result for principal clipart
This morning, we are honoring Mrs. Harlan by holding a school-wide assembly to bid her farewell as she moves into retirement. The kindergarten classes are holding a dance party with her from 9-9:20 and at the end of the day, the kids will line the hallways for her to walk through on a red carpet.

The high school Seniors are parading through the elementary hallways this morning wearing their cap and gown. This is so cool!

The kids get to read to a preschool buddy this morning! We plan to be there from 10:30-10:45 and again from 2:20-2:35.

New Concept: These lessons will revisit story problems. We have worked with story problems before and today we will act out the story problem. Call students up to have them act out the story problem. 4 blue balloons and 1 red balloon were floating in the sky. How many balloons were floating in the sky? I also can write the fact family for this problem. Use the large number bond sheet to document the various equations.
Whole Group Explore: Now you will get a number bond page to share with your partner. I will call a few friends up to help act out our story problems. If you are not one of the actors, you will be doing the problem on your number bond paper. We will also write the different equations for this story. Read and guide the student actors in the story problems. Guide students as you create fact families for each story problem.
Student Application: Read the story problems to the students. Students will then solve the story problem, write the number bond, and create the fact family.
Fluency Check: (students will have 1 minute to answer as many as they can correctly). NOTE: This will be mixed operations.
