Literacy Shelf Time
We end our first unit in Writer's Workshop on illustrating/labeling. The children have become more detailed in their illustrations as well as attempting to write the sounds they hear to label their pictures. Today, we will celebrate their accomplishments!
Our focus today will be on what it means to be brave or courageous. The children will receive a small paper booklet that explains what Veterans Day is.
~Iraqi War Vet, Sean Nies has sent a video to us today explaining what a Veteran is and what his job was when he served. Sean was a Seabee in the Navy and his rank was First Class Petty Officer. He was deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq. His wife is a former teacher here at MLE. To see the short video, click here.
~Late start tomorrow...The children should wear anything that is green or shows their Irish spirit.
~The book order is due Wednesday.
