All Aboard!
Time to head to the North Pole on the Polar Express!

Story on the SmartBoard: The Polar Express  By: Chris Van Allsburg 

Our classroom chairs will be placed in rows facing the SmartBoard so the kids can see and hear the story come to life. Before leaving on our make-believe train ride to the North Pole, your child will be given a ticket to be punched as well as a letter and bell from Santa at the conclusion of the trip.
   We are having hot chocolate and popcorn when we return from the North Pole!

 Project: The kids are making the Polar Express as it drives through the midnight snow.
 There is nothing better than to give the gift of reading! Your child is receiving a book, stuffed animal and lap blanket that I made for them.
         Music Today
Computer class at 8:55-9:25 this morning.

     

~Have your child do their holiday homework packet throughout the break to have lunch with me in our classroom when we return in person. 😄 

~I want to thank all of you for sharing your child with me as you are helping me to continue my passion of doing what I love to do! As you approach 2021, take time to look at that little cherub of yours and embrace their innocence, energy, and savor their youth because before you know it, that child is grown.
May your holidays be truly special with your family and friends.

Say a word very slowly: /p/, /i/, /g/  and pull it back together to say pig. We will do this with other words too.

                                                                               Hello Families-

 Have your child complete the homework that came home in their folder yesterday and return on Monday. There will not be anything else assigned on Seesaw today. Your child can paint the candy cane that was sent home in their remote bin as well. It is a green construction paper with a ribbon inside a baggie. You do not need to send that back.🙂 Again, I will be available on Google Meet from 10-11 this morning if you have any questions. 🙂

Changing the beginning sound in a word to make a new word: hop to pop, job to cob, etc.

    Handwriting: The alphabet in all CAPITALS

This lesson shows the children when we use capitals...at the beginning of a sentence, when using names or places.

Math: Nonstandard Weight
The kids will use connecting cubes to weigh items in our classroom. (pencil, book, eraser, etc.)

This lesson focuses on not quitting too soon when writing. We have to work on our writing stamina and keep going until Mrs. Tongen says it's time to be done.
