We are learning what the Memorial Day holiday means today.

Project: We often see poppies for sale this time of year. The children will learn why this is done and make a poppy to bring home.

We are having a pizza party this afternoon! A BIG thank you goes to Gaborik's family for donating them! I want to also thank our PTA who donated freezies to celebrate our last day.

A summer packet is coming home with your child today. PLEASE, PLEASE have your child work on it each week throughout the summer. It is meant to be spread out throughout the summer rather than finishing it immediately or waiting until August. Be sure to read all summer too...the benefits FAR outweigh the duty! 
Anyone who returns the packet to me next year receives a prize from me!

~As I write the final update, I know in my heart I have given all that I could to help your child grow. They, too, helped me grow in so many ways! We became a 'kinderfamily' which will always remain in my heart...memories that can never be erased. More importantly, they have given all they could to be such great learners! I want to thank all of you again for making our partnership be what it was (especially through the pandemic) for the benefit of your child. I would hope someday they will all say:
All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten!

Math: The Dime
We will focus on the dime today.
 Keep exposing your kids to coins so they learn their names and values. (penny, nickel, dime, quarter)

 Phy Ed Today (Yesterday was music, Sorry-my error!)

It's Cleaning Day with Mrs. Wishy Washy!
The kids will wear Mrs. Wishy Washy's headpiece so they can scrub our classroom like she does with the farm animals. The kids will get aprons to wear and plenty of water to use in order to get the job done! This is the chant they will say to help squeeze out the excess water in their rags:
Wishy washy, wishy washy, shake-shake-shake.

**Other Mrs. Wishy Washy activities today include:
~Mrs. Wishy Washy reader (can sight word)
~In the story, the animals always say, "Oh lovely mud." but how would you describe the mud?
~Identify the characters and setting in the story.
