 Writer's Workshop: Memories
 The children will write their favorite thing about kindergarten. These memory pages will be saved and given to you at graduation.

Math: Subtraction Stories

The kids will continue to work on subtraction but move into word problems. Please remember that subtraction word problems require a lot of listening comprehension skills. These skills will, at times, need more practice than the subtraction itself.

The kids will have 10 snap cubes and a farm picture.

 Farmer John walked outside and spotted 6 horses in the barn but then 3 horses trotted away. How many horses are left?

At this time, the kids place 6 snap cubes on the barn picture and remove 3 snap cubes. 
Another word problem example...
 Farmer John had 9 cats in the barn. Farmer Kate came to get 5 cats. How many cats are left?
