KinderLiteracy
KinderLiteracy is the name of our reading program we use in kindergarten at our school. It digs deep into texts to help build understanding and meaning through weekly themes that support comprehension, essential questions, and story elements.
This week's theme is Sharing and the focused text is: Rainbow Fish by: Marcus Pfister.
Today, the children will hear the story for enjoyment and build an interest in the topic and expand their prior knowledge.
Math Tubs Exploration
Free exploration of math manipulatives is an important first step before expecting the children to use them in a purposeful way. The children will get the chance to explore pattern blocks as shown in the image above.
KinderMath
We begin our math curriculum today. Please read the overview in this photo for detailed info as to the 'why' we use this kind of math.

The first unit is called Numbers 0-5
See the photo below to see lesson 1 overview. Some lessons include related literature as well. Today's lesson: Numbers 1, 2, 3

Touch & Feel...Guess What's in the Bag?
How does glue help us learn? How do we use it properly? How do we take care of the bottle so it's ready for the next time you need it?
Assume nothing, teach everything!
