Language Arts: The children will continue to identify cause & effect through pictures and text in the big book Teddy on the Move. They will also work on retelling story events and writing about Teddy's thoughts when his friends come to visit him when he broke his toe.
   Writer's Workshop: Using the big book What Are Some Rules at Home? by Margaret McNamara, I will model writing an informational report. The children aren't writing their own report at this point. They continue to write in their journals about book reviews or something that interests them.                                                          
A storybook reader is scheduled for 10:10 to read Max Celebrates Cinco De Mayo & I'm Thankful Everyday.
MCA testing is in the computer lab so Miss Casebolt will be bringing the Ipad cart to our room!

Using the big book: Discover Informational Reports  By: Steve W. Dunn & Connie Smith, we will revisit the steps to making a report. Again, the children aren't actually writing a report but learning through pictures and text about the process.

Their work focuses on:
~Modeling the action of separating situations.
~Separating two single-digit numbers with totals under 10.

 A big thank you goes to Wright-Hennepin who donated a tree to every child in our school.
 To conclude our Earth Week activities, the children will be planting marigold seeds and making a pet rock.
