Letter Study: Bb
 Name Focus: Preston
Modeling: Dry Erase Marker/Whiteboards
How will this tool help our learning? How can we take care of it so it is ready when we need it? Where do I put the marker and whiteboard when I am finished?
We did not get to this yesterday.

                      
 Math: Same and Different Using 2D Shapes/Count to Tell How Many
New Concept: We have been talking about things that are the same. Sort the math manipulatives according to their attributes (example: 3 triangles, 4 squares, 2 hexagons, 3 rhombuses). I have sorted these by shape. How are these the same? These are all triangles (green). These are all squares (blue). How are they different? Now I am going to count how many are in each group. I need to be sure I touch each shape as I count them. Watch: 1, 2, 3 … I have 3 triangles. I am going to write a 3 on my mat so I can remember how many I had. Continue with the rest of your shapes.  
Whole Group Explore: Today, you are going to get with a math buddy and sort shapes.   Once you have them sorted, you will want to count them and write how many you had in each group.
Bus Safety
Over the next few days, the kids will learn about safety ideas for the bus. Today, we will focus on waiting for the bus in a safe place and being on time for the bus.
We did not get to this yesterday.

~I put the Common Core Standards that I spoke about at our parent meeting in your child's Wednesday envelope yesterday. Again, these are goals to meet by the end of the year.
