New Concept: Yesterday we played “Match me - 1.” Today I want to play it again, but we are going to switch it up a little. We are going to play “Match Me - 1 or +1.”
Select a student card from the previous lessons and build a set of cubes on one side of the mat. Flip the counter to determine if you will build a set that is +1 or -1 then build that set. Use the math talk card and a marker to describe your sets.
Whole Group Explore: Today you will play “Match me plus or minus 1”. Take turns with your partner. You will flip the counter to decide if you will +1 or - 1. You will use your math talk cards and a marker to describe the sets you build.
Switching from + or – can be tricky. This lesson will be repeated over several days so students will have additional practice.

~Conferences are coming at the end of the month. A notice of your date/time will be in the Wednesday envelope next week.

Have a GREAT weekend!
