When we repeat a story over several days, we are focusing in on different skills. Today, we are working on reading with expression.

 Writer's Workshop: The children will be writing a thank-you letter to Wright-Hennepin Electric for the LED nightlight they received.

Reader's Workshop: Using the big book, The Gingerbread Man, the children will recall the story events (setting, characters, beginning, middle, end) as well as make inferences and draw conclusions during the reading.

Writer's Workshop: Fix-it Up Strategies
After writing about what they would do if they were the Gingerbread Man, once again the kids will reflect on their work using the 'Fix-it Up' strategies.
