Math: Composing/Decomposing Teen Numbers

We have built number bonds before. Today we are going to build them with larger numbers. I am going to spin the spinner and build the number with my manipulatives. Then I will use my numbers like I did before. Now I can write this down on my number bond page. Finally I will use my math talk card. I included a picture to show you the steps to this activity.

*Zero the Hero visits too! It's day 130! 

DAILY 5...The children have a lot of new Word Work and Work on Writing activities waiting for them!

Science: Stars!
We begin a new unit all about stars today. To launch this unit, the kids will tell what they already know about stars and we will place those thoughts on a piece of chart paper.
