New Concept: Today I want to teach you a new game. This game is called “Shake, Shake, Shake.” We are going to start with 5 counters in my cup (count them as you put them in). Now I am going to shake them and spill them out on the floor. I have to be really careful to keep my pieces close to me. Now I can talk about this. “I have 2 red and 3 yellow. That makes 5.” I can also write about this...2 + 3 = 5. Repeat this demonstration a few times.
