Reader's Workshop: Introduce the comprehension strategy: Make Inferences
Using the poster below, we will talk about what we know already just by looking at the picture.
~Readers make inferences using clues in text and pictures and what they know to figure our what an author does not directly state.
~Making inferences helps readers make sense of a text and build interest as they read.
~Making inferences encourages readers to think about the message an author is communicating.
Writer's Workshop: The children will write about our elf.
