Math: Whole/Part-Part
New Concept: The other day we played a game where we broke apart numbers and put them on our whole/part-part boards. I want to show you how we can write this down. Demonstrate using the whole/part-part boards with cubes. Then use a white board marker to fill in the blanks on the math talk card. Repeat with several examples.
Whole Group Explore: Today you and your partner will be writing on your math talk card, just like I did.
Student Application: Students will practice breaking whole numbers into parts while writing their numbers. They will also write the number combinations.
Music Today
UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER!!We are going to have fun creating our own ugly Christmas sweaters out of paper today! With lots of glitter, sequence and other treasures to add, these sweaters should turn out quite interesting! We will be displaying them in the high school teacher's lounge to bring them some holiday cheer!
~The book order is due tomorrow. Again, let me know if you plan to give any as presents and we can make arrangements for you to pick-up.
~Report cards will be sent home tomorrow.
~We will be shopping at Santa's Secret Shop tomorrow morning.
