New Concept: We learned a lot about measuring this year so far. What are some of the ways we can measure something? Today we are going to use pennies to measure a few things. We will use them to measure how much something weighs and how long something is. Watch while I measure my dry erase marker. Demonstrate measuring the length and weight of the marker with pennies.
Whole Group Explore: Now you will measure a few classroom items in the same way. Students will measure the items independently.
