Zero the Hero visits today for Day 90!
We will start the lesson by reading the story, Eggs and Legs by Michael Dahl which focuses on counting by 2's and pairs of objects. Why would we want to count by 2’s? Would we always count items by 2’s? Each pair of students will use 10 pairs of color cubes (2 red, 2 yellow, etc.) and a set of count by 2’s number cards. Partners will first make the pairs from the snap cubes. Then they will lay out their snap cubes with space between each set of cubes. Next, they will lay out the number cards under each set to match and lastly, go back through and practice counting the cubes by 2’s.
Will the groundhog see his shadow? We will make predictions today and graph the results tomorrow.
~The 'Readopoly' board (for I Love to Read month) will be in your child's folder today. Please keep it on the 'Return to School' side all month long and I will check for your signatures of the stories you read to them.
