Writer's Workshop: The Pigeon Needs a Bath
Today's lesson helps us to think about how opinion stories can be written from all kinds of things we see, hear and read. After hearing the story, The Pigeon Needs a Bath by Mo Willems, the kids will give their opinion and reasons why the pigeon does/does not need a bath.

We begin a new unit today called Addition Word Problems. The kids will work with snap cubes to solve simple word problems..."I had 3 pencils and 2 crayons. How many in all?" "I had 2 chairs and 6 more chairs. How many chairs in all?", etc.
