Reading Workshop: Performing the Reader's Theater book At School

 A storybook reader from Monday is rescheduled for 9:30 to read Missing Mitten Mystery. 

Character Education: Today is Mrs. Weninger's last day for Kindergarten Character Education. She has helped strengthen the kids' understanding of the Superflex characters so that the children can apply self-regulation strategies.

Math: Brown Bear, Brown Bear Addition Story

New Concept: Yesterday we practiced using our whole/part/part equations and using manipulatives as an addition strategy. Today I want to show you another strategy. It is already one that we are very good at. You can draw a picture to help you. Let’s say I had this problem in front of me and I was not sure how to figure it out... 4+ 3.  I could just draw a picture! Draw a simple picture with circles to demonstrate this problem. 
Whole Group Explore: Today you are going to draw pictures to solve some math equations. We will make this into a class book, so do your best! The books will have the characters from Brown Bear, Brown Bear.  
 Each pair of students will get a different page for the class book. 
Student Application: No additional student practice will be given. 
Regroup and Share:  Read and discuss the class book.
