Sight Words: when, have
Language Arts: We have enjoyed working with the book, The Enormous Watermelon all week long while focusing on the story elements. Today, we are going to pretend we are the characters from the story and write a letter to Old Mother Hubbard thanking her for letting us help get the enormous watermelon pulled out of her garden and eating it.
[:)]Character Education:  Mrs. Weninger will focus on the Superflex characters Glassman and Space Invader today.Your child will bring home a descriptor of each today.
Writing: In their journal, the kids will write about something they could be that is enormous. I want to be an enormous ______.

 Math: Ten Frame Fun
The kids will roll a dot cube to find out how many counters to place on a ten frame. The idea is to focus on how many more are needed to fill the frame to make 10. For instance, if a 3 is rolled, how many more do we need to make 10?

: Watch for it to come home today...Due Monday.

Art: Pattern Lesson-Clowns
Concepts:
1.A Pattern is an arrangement of shapes that suggest a design, usually involving the repetition of one or more motifs.
2. Patterns are found everywhere: on our clothing, in nature, on buildings, on fabrics, on walls, etc.

3. Clowns wear bright colors and many different patterns on their costumes.
4. When people put on clown faces, they cover their real features with makeup and draw new clown faces over their real faces.
5. Clowns are funny and they make us laugh.

~The book for the exchange is due next Friday.
