Sight Word Focus: had

Phonemic Awareness: Segment Phonemes Within Words
Long Vowel i: I will state a long vowel i word and the kids will write it.

Literacy Jobs

~Book Club will not be in session this week as I will be assessing for report cards during this time. Your child will be able to read books from their book box throughout the week.

 Math:  Count by 5's 

I will read the story, Tally O'Malley by Stuart Murphy and focus on counting by 5’s and understanding the use of tally marks. The kids will then get to apply their skills in using tally marks by taking inventory of the classroom. They will walk around the classroom and take inventory of the items listed on the sheet. The kids will continue to work with counting by 5’s and using tallies to do so. Then using popsicle sticks, they will create sets of tally marks to 20. After the sets of tally marks have been made, they will go back through and count the sets; 5, 10, 15, 20 and mark them with pictures of hands.

Dental Health
 I will read, I Know Why I Brush My Teeth by Kate Rowan and discuss the importance of having a clean mouth. Next, we will become 'teeth' and BRIEFLY stand together to 'floss' between them with a piece of yarn.
