KinderWriting: Storytellers Share Stories
Before expecting the children to write stories, these introductory lessons dig into the "how and why" of being a writer and lay the foundation for your child to become confident in the earliest stage of writing! Today I will tell the story of the 3 Little Pigs using only my words. Next, we will share the story together as a class and lastly, the children will then share the story with a partner.
Literacy Jobs
KinderMath: Read and Write 7
Today's lesson focuses on understanding what the number 7 is and how it can be represented in multiple ways. (writing the numeral, 7 fingers, tallies, number word, 7 objects, counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. etc.) Again, we will use the story Hop Jump by Ellen Stoll Walsh to help with counting and playing two games that involve counting and identifying the next number in a sequence of numbers: Roll & Cover and What Comes Next?
