Handwriting: Letter Yy, Sentence & Teen Numbers
 Writer's Workshop: Then (Day 2)
Writer's continue to use the word "then" for the middle of their stories.

Math: Add with Objects
We begin a new unit today called Addition Word Problems. The kids will work with snap cubes to solve simple word problems: "I had 3 pencils and 2 crayons. How many in all?" "I had 2 chairs and 6 more chairs. How many chairs in all?", etc.

In this Read-Along lesson, students listen to an illustrated digital storybook with student participation. In the story, JJ and his grandfather get ready for a big thunderstorm. In the activity, Get Ready for a Storm, the kids learn about other kinds of storms and act out ways to prepare for storms.
