We begin a new unit today called Numbers 1-10. Today's lesson focuses on understanding what the number 6 is and how it can be represented in multiple ways. (writing the numeral, 6 fingers, tallies, number word, 6 objects, counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. etc.) We will be using the story Hop Jump by Ellen Stoll Walsh to help with counting and playing two games that involve counting: Roll & Count and Roll & Fill.
