Writer's Workshop: Using an ABC Strip
I will pretend that I can't remember how to write one letter in a word I will stretch out. I will tell them that instead of getting stuck or waiting until the teacher can come to you, sing the ABC’s from the ABC strip to find the letter.
“Let's say I wanted to label the word “leg” on my person. I stretch out the word leg
slowly and hear the first sound is /l/ but I can’t remember how to write the letter.
I can solve this problem myself. I can point to the big letter A on
the strip and sing the ABC’s while pointing to each letter. When I get to the letter
l, that is the one I can copy!” We will practice on a pre-drawn picture of an apartment building (setting).
KinderMath: Compare Length

~ Kindergarten is continuing to collect pancake mix for the "Stuff the Turkey" project until Friday, November 21.
