We will review the life cycle of a frog and look at a Venn Diagram (pictured below) to see how tadpoles are alike/different.

"I want to measure how long this pencil is so I am going to use my cubes to measure it. First I estimate and snap some cubes together. Then I measure. I have to be sure that I line them up on the end. Now I snap off any extra. If the pencil lands in the middle of the cube {we round up}. Then we count to see how many cubes it is. We can say, “My pencil is about 8 cubes long.”
I will provide a few examples before I send the kids off to work.
Whole Group Explore: Today you get to hunt around the room to measure a few items. Be sure you are very careful to line the cubes with the bottom or edge of the item you are measuring. Student Application: Students will count and write their numbers 8, 9, 10.
Student’s will order the pumpkins from tallest to shortest.
The kids will do the experiment where they will drop water on a penny, nickel, and dime to see how many drops it takes to cover each. Yesterday, they each made a hypothesis on how many each would hold.
