 Phonics: We are beginning to learn about the digraph "th" today. Watch for a letter coming home today that explains who the "H Brothers" are. The letter explains the fun way we introduce th, ch, sh, and wh.
 A storybook reader is scheduled for 9:30 to read One Winter's Day.

 Reader's Workshop: Making Inferences

The kids will:~Make inferences using what they see in pictures and read in text.~Use clues in the text along with what you know to make inferences.~Make connections with pictures and text.
 Handwriting: lowercase o and s  
 Writer's Workshop: The children continue to work on adding details to their writing.
SMART Room
DAILY 5
 Math:  We begin work with Numbers +1 and Numbers -1 today. The kids will help make number cards to 10 that will be used throughout the upcoming lessons.

~Please return a towel for Quiet Time if you haven't done so.
~The kids are excited to have lunch in our classroom today. I have special placemats and the lights will be dimmed to create a very special atmosphere for all the work they did over break!
 **We have a Doctor's Office play area in our classroom. Two doctors and two patients can play in the area at one time. A waiting area accommodates two other eager patients!
