The children will use the poster below to:
~Identify the sequence of events in pictures and text.

Writer's Workshop
We continue to establish writing routines in our classroom that help the children engage in the task at hand. Today's lesson focuses on telling more instead of only labeling pictures. For example, rather than writing 'mom', (if a child draws a mom.) what other words can we add to it?

A storybook reader is scheduled for 9:30 to read That's Good! That's Bad!
DAILY 5
 Math: Comparing Numbers
New Concept: These next few lessons will be used to reinforce number order, counting, and fluency.
How do we know that 5 is more than 3? Let’s see if I can prove it.  I am going to take two of these picture cards. Then I will put a cube on each picture of the cards. When I have all of the pictures covered, I can snap them together to make a trains to compare.
Whole Group Explore: Today we are going to play a game with your partner. You will take turns taking a card. You will look at your card and see who has fewer and who has more. Then you will place the card by the spinner to see who wins the counter.
Student Application: Students will practice counting, tracing, and writing numerals 6-10.  Students will count the sunflowers and pumpkins. They will write how many in the circle.  They will color the objects with fewer yellow and the set with more orange.

Time for Kids: The Team at School
Again, we received a grant that allows your child to bring home their own copy! I encourage you to do the back page together each time.

SMART Room: Practicing our sight words while bouncing on the stability ball.

-Please return the turkey we sent home for decorating by Friday. Thanks!
~At our Irish Pride celebration yesterday, we were introduced to Erick Vandergon to reinforce the month's character word: Self-Control. He started weight lifting when he was 15 and graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1996. He shared how self-control can help you achieve your goals and make you a better person.
