Character Education: Zones of Regulation
Each of us experiences feelings throughout our day and how we express those feelings is critical. Our goal each day is to stay in the green zone which helps us to learn better. Mrs. Weninger is helping the children with strategies to cope with different emotions they may experience.

Library Day
DECK THE HALLS WITH BOUGHS OF HOLLY...
This morning, we are making three different holiday decorations to fill the kindergarten hallway. This is sure to heighten the holiday spirit! They will be making a Santa, silly Christmas star, and candy cane.
Math:  More Work With Counting Strategies
New Concept: Today we are going to keep counting! One of the things that I love about a ten frame is that it really helps me keep track of my counting. I KNOW if I fill in one of these ten-frames then I have 10!  Let’s just check it!  Put an object in each box, then count them. Let’s say I have more than 10 and I have to use 2 ten-frames. (Put 15 items on the 2 ten-frames.) I could count every one of my objects, or I could just look at the 10 frame and KNOW that I have 10 and count on. Demonstrate how you tap the filled ten-frame and say ten, then count on. Repeat this several times and invite students to join in.
Whole Group Explore: Today we will play a game. One of the partners will start by spinning the spinner which contains the numbers 11-15, then they will count out that many items. What strategy would work well for this? (Count and Scoot) The other partner will place the beans on the ten-frames and count the objects to be sure they have the right amount. What strategies would work best for that? (Count and Touch)
Student Application: We will need to use the count and check strategy on this paper again today.  We won’t be able to move the pictures, so we will want to check them off as we count them.
