Character Education
First, Mrs. Weninger will be finishing the book I AM PEACE where the kids learn that the boy in the book found the anchor to his boat which means he has learned ways to calm his body and brain and like I keep saying...SETTLE his GLITTER! She will also be teaching them two breathing techniques and sending home pictures so they can try it at home...SNAKE breath and ELEPHANT breath. Again, to view the story, go here.

Yesterday we read The Rainbow Fish as a part of the Social Studies lesson on sharing. Today, the children will make the Rainbow Fish and create a sentence that says how they can be a good friend.
Math: More & Fewer
New Concept: Today we are going to talk again about more and fewer. This time I am going to take one of the number cards out and snap that many cubes together. Now when I put them behind my back my partner will pick a hand. This time we will put our pieces on a ten-frame and place it to the side of the "More/Fewer" spinner. We will use our math talk card, then spin. Whoever wins that spin will get a counter.
Whole Group Explore: Now you will get a chance to play this game with your partner. Remember to play fair and be a good partner.
Student Application: Students will practice writing 8, 9, 10
Students will color the items in the set that have fewer brown and more red.
