Mrs. Weninger will revisit Snake breath then go into learning Elephant breath, Bumble Bee breath, and Bunny breath.

New Concept: I want to measure how long this pencil is so I am going to use my cubes to measure it. First I estimate and snap some cubes together. Then I measure. I have to be sure that I line them up on the end. Now I snap off any extra. If the pencil lands in the middle of the cube {we round up}. Then we count to see how many cubes it is. We can say, “My pencil is about 8 cubes long.”
I will provide a few examples before I send the kids off to work.
Whole Group Explore: Today you get to hunt around the room to measure a few items. Be sure you are very careful to line the cubes with the bottom or edge of the item you are measuring.
Student Application: Students will count and write their numbers 8, 9, 10.
Student’s will order the pumpkins from tallest to shortest.

~Your child will be bringing their monster home today! The high school sewing class is having us come to their classroom this morning to receive them!
