Phonemic Awareness: Manipulating beginning, middle, and ending sounds:
rat- /c/, cat
hit- /o/, hot
rat- /g/, rag
Vowel Review: A mix of the long/short vowels today.
Writer's Workshop: Writing Booklets
Yesterday, the kids were SUPER excited in knowing they were writing their first book that has a beginning, middle, and end. We have been working on bits and pieces of this all along but now it feels like they are a real author/illustrator by making it into a book. They will continue working with this over the next couple of sessions.Literacy Jobs
Math: Combining Sets to 8The kids will use 8 connecting cubes to make trains with two different colors like the image below. Again, we are working on the solid foundation for addition without using symbols at this point.
Time for Kids: Parts of a Tree
