Tuesday, March 28

Tuesday, March 28

If possible, have your child read out loud one or more books from their book bag each day for the remainder of this week. This builds fluency, automaticity, and is just plain fun for making time together to celebrate their reading journey! Log what they read (in the communication journal) and they will get to have lunch in our classroom! They can read the books multiple times.

Happy Reading!😃

KinderMath: Adding 0 and 1
In today's lesson, the kids will work on the concept of adding on 0 and 1. This will be done by using a 'life-size' number path (1-10) on our classroom floor. Each child will have a turn to show what happens when we add 1 more by hopping to that number. For instance, if they are standing on 3 and I say, "Add 1",  they would hop to 4. Next, the kids will take turns to show what happens when I say, "Add 0".  Again, the lesson within this entire unit is laying the foundation for using +, -, = symbols.
It's day 120 and Zero the Hero visits!
