KinderLiteracy: Storms

We will focus these vocabulary words within the story (weather, crystal, electricity, funnel) and answer these questions:

1) Who is the author? What is their job compared to the illustrator?
2) What is one fact we heard from the book?

KinderWriting: Authors Give Their Best
The kids will learn how to tell more with colorful pictures and great handwriting.

Math: Subtraction with Objects

It's time to move onto subtraction! For these beginning lessons, the kids will be introduced to strategies that will help them in solving subtraction problems. However, the symbols {- and =} are not introduced quite yet. For this introductory lesson the kids will use 5 snap cubes and a five frame to manipulate 'taking away' from the poem “5 Little Ducks.”

We Love our Earth!

The children met Mother Earth yesterday. She is here all week to help the children learn ways to care for our earth. Today, the kids will make their own Mother Earth puppet.
