Tuesday, April 4

 Tuesday, April 4

Happy birthday Eleanor!
Guided Phonics: Open Syllables (Day 1)
~Identifying sounds
~High frequency words: go, so, no
~Word building sound: open syllables (Words that end in a vowel without a consonant closing it in. The vowel in the word now represents a long sound.)

KinderLiteracy: Rabbits
We will focus these vocabulary words within the story (pellets, fluffy, lively, burrow, gnaw) and answer these questions:
1) Who is the author? What is their job?
2) What is one fact we heard from the book?

Writing Activity: What can a Peep Do?
Math: Add with a Number Path
The children will work with a number path similar to the picture below.
Researchers believe that a number line is just too abstract for our young mathematicians. Our students need to be able to visually see each unit, which is the box containing a number. This allows for concrete understanding of seeing how many spaces it is from one number to another.
The kids will do a number of problems similar to this:
There were 4 frogs on a log. 2 more hopped on. How many are on the log?
Your child will be 'hatching' an egg over the next two days. If they are successful at staying on their egg, it might have a crack in it tomorrow!
 PE Today
Directed Drawing: Easter Bunny (finishing touches today)
~Our peeps have been named and are all snuggled in...

~We plan to have lunch in our classroom tomorrow if everyone is here!
