KinderLiteracy: Pumpkins
I will reread parts of Pumpkin Town! so the children can answer text-dependent questions like the ones below:
~What evidence did the author provide to show that the boys had made a mistake by throwing out the pumpkin seeds?
~How did the townspeople's feelings change throughout the story?
~What occurs after the boys clean up the pumpkins for the townspeople?
Writer's Workshop: Building Shape People (We did not get to this yesterday.)
Again, the idea is to show the kids that various shapes can be used for a head, body, and legs/arms before they actually draw them.
Literacy Jobs
Library Day!
A number of activities will support the skills in today's lesson. The kids will roll a dot cube to fill in a 10-Frame, make cube towers of 10, and play the game, Guess My Number. In this game, each pair has a number path from 1-10. Partner A covers one number on the path while Partner B guesses which number is covered.Phy Ed Today
