Literacy Jobs
These are boxes of educational, independent activities that allow the children to practice skills in letter sounds, upper/lowercase letter matching, letter order, fine motor work and more. The activities are changed every two-three weeks. Our Literacy Jobs time will last about 30 minutes each day so I can work with individuals/small groups on phonemic awareness and phonics skills.
Handwriting: Upper and Lowercase Down the Slide Review
In addition to focusing on number 9, the kids will work on identifying the missing number in a counting sequence (7, _ , 9) as well as counting on from 5 using a Ten Frame as shown.
We want the children to see that within the ten frame, the top row has 5 and one more below it. We count: "5,6". There is no need to count each dot if we train our brain to see "5" automatically. They will continue counting on with numbers 7-9.

~ Thank you for visiting with me at conferences...I enjoyed sharing your child's growth so far! Again, look for UFLI homework to come home approximately twice a week.
