Buddy Reading: Students from Mrs. Sutter's Creative Writing class from the high school made children's books and will be visiting our classroom again today to read the story they wrote and illustrated.
KinderMath: Sort and Analyze Data
Using items from our classroom, the kids will sort them into categories and analyze the data. For example, the kids have a mixture of 8 bear counters, 5 crayons and 3 paperclips. First, they sort their mixture and place the items in vertical columns. Next, they write the total under each column. Last, the analyzing happens...
Which do we have more of? How do you know? How many more crayons are there than paperclips? And so on...

How Do Plants and Trees Grow?
In this lesson, students investigate what plants need to grow. In the two-part activity, Sprout a Seed, the kids plant radish seeds in paper cups. When the seeds sprout, students notice that the leaves of the young plants lean toward the light. A classroom root viewer made from a Ziploc bag and paper towels lets students observe root growth.
