Reading Workshop:  Comprehension Strategy: Analyze Story Elements

Math: Whole/Part-Part
New Concept: Yesterday we played a game where we broke apart numbers and put them on our whole/part boards. I want to show you how we can write this down. 
Demonstrate using the whole/part-part boards with cubes. Then use a white board marker to fill in the blanks on the math talk card. Repeat with several examples. 
Whole Group Explore: Today you will work with your partner like you did yesterday.  However, today you will be writing on your math talk card, just like I did.  
Student Application: Students will practice breaking whole numbers into parts while writing their numbers. They will also write the number combinations.

Santa's Secret Shop: The children are shopping between 9:30-10:00 this morning. What a wonderful time of year in the eyes of little ones!
                                          
                           ~I forgot to mention that the kids had art yesterday and were finishing their holiday scene. Mary is showing them how to apply the
                   paint and glitter. They are hanging in our classroom for awhile.
