DAILY 5
The children made it 10 minutes of uninterrupted 'Read to Self' time last week! Today we begin building stamina for 'Work on Writing'. Our goal is 10 minutes of uninterrupted writing time. Each component of the DAILY 5 is critical to practice so that the children become independent in their skill development. Eventually, all the components will be happening at the same time with students participating at various ones. The components are:

Math: Comparing Numbers
New Concept: These next few lessons will be used to reinforce number order, counting, and fluency. The children will sort out three sets of number cards (numerals, objects, ten-frames...see photo below.)
Whole Group Explore: Partners will order their cards and sort them in a similar way.
Student Application: Students will practice counting, tracing, and writing numerals 6-10.
