Reading Strategy: Flippy Dolphin
(Read the description on the photo above.)

Work Stations
New Concept: Yesterday we had fun playing “Pass the beans.” Our egg carton worked so well, but sometimes we don’t have a tool like an egg carton to use. So you can make a pile of 10. Count the contents of one bag into a pile of 10 and then some ones.
Whole Group Explore: Today, when you play, “Pass the beans” like we did yesterday, you will make a pile of ten, then use the math talk card. When the teacher gives the signal, students will “Pass the beans” and the bag of manipulatives will rotate in a clockwise direction.
Student Application: Students will work independently on circling ten items from a group of items larger than 10.
We have been invited to listen to a harpist this afternoon from 1:50-2:20.
