Wednesday, April 3

New Concept: Yesterday, we had fun playing “Pass the beans.” Our egg carton worked so well, but sometimes we don’t have a tool like an egg carton to use. So you can make a pile of 10. Count the contents of one bag into a pile of 10 and then some ones.
Whole Group Explore: Today, when you play, “Pass the beans” like we did yesterday, you will make a pile of ten, then use the math talk card. When the teacher gives the signal, students will “Pass the beans” and the bag of manipulatives will rotate in a clockwise direction.
Student Application: Students will work independently on circling ten items from a group of items larger than 10.

To launch this lesson, the children will view a short video about spiders. To see what they will, click here.

~The book order is due Wednesday, April 10.
