 Writer's Workshop: Personal Narratives
*We start this new unit today.
A narrative story has a certain job it has to do There are four major things we want to remember when it comes to narrative writing. A narrative is always written by the character. Next, a narrative story is always written about a real life event that happened to you. Third, a narrative contains your feelings on what happened. Did it make you sad? Did it make you happy? Lastly, a narrative is generally a story that is told in sequential order. That just means that the story is told with a beginning, middle and an ending.

I will begin by posing the following “problem” for the kids. " I am needing some help today. My daughter asked me to make her a sweater with yellow and red buttons on it. She told me she wanted 6 buttons on her sweater and to use red and yellow buttons, but I am not sure how many of each I want to use! Can you help me make all the possible combinations of buttons I can use on the sweater?" The kids will help me make the combinations using red/yellow snap cubes.
