Sight Word Focus: as

Phonics: Short Vowels Review
 Building words with /e/, /o/ in the middle
Phonemic Awareness: Identify Medial Vowel Sounds

I will say some words and the children will tell me the vowel sound they hear in the middle.

   Handwriting: Words Make Sentences

 Writer's Workshop: Introduction to Narratives
Basically, the kids will begin to learn that a narrative is a story they tell about something that happened to them and how it made them feel.

  Kindermath: About 17

 The kids will work with their partners to fill the Teen Number Ten Frame board to represent their teen number. Start by showing the number 17. Students will then fill their ten frame board to match. Say, “Ten and 7 make 17!” Continue with numbers 11-17.

•Students will show their partner a hide ten card set and their partner will state what they see.

“10 and 5, ten five, 15!”

• Students will also be using the teen number “and some” cards to quiz their partners mastery with teen numbers. Students will flash the “and some” cards and have their partners state the teen number they see.

 Project: Martin Luther King (cut/assemble/glue)

~Tomorrow is an independent learning day. There will be assignments posted to Seesaw and there will be no 'live' meets. I will be available on Google Meet for any questions, clarifications, etc. from 10-11 tomorrow.
~No school on Monday, January 18 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. 
~The book order is due Wednesday, January 20.
