Literacy Jobs
Writer's Workshop: Notes of Encouragement
A good friend of mine is battling breast cancer so I am having the kids write notes of encouragement to her. The notes will bring such joy to her when I deliver them this evening.
Math: Numbers 1-100
Today the kids will work on creating one large, life-sized 100’s chart. We will start by having the kids help think through how to place the numbers down and talk about each set of numbers. For instance, when you put down all the numbers that start with a 2, what does that really mean? All the kids will help build the 100’s chart hands-on. After the 100’s chart is made, the kids will help count out all the ways they’ve learned (2’s, 5’s, and 10’s).
Science: Skittle Rainbow Experiment
Prior to conducting the experiment, I will read Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh. This story is about mice who mix paint colors. At the conclusion of the experiment, the kids will complete their own Mouse Paint book.
Watch the experiment here.
~Late start is tomorrow.
~The book order is due Wednesday, March 10.
