Kinderwriting: Show and Retell Stories
The children and I will write a 'show and retell' story together today. Through detailed illustrations and attempts at labeling, the story should be easily retold. Again, this takes a lot practice and we are laying the groundwork for the kids to become skilled, independent writers.
Kindermath: How Many in All?
Using two different colors of cubes, partners each roll a dot cube and build that many with their cubes. They will join the cubes to see how many in all. Using two separate colors helps the kids 'see' how many...this is building the foundation for doing addition with numbers.
