KinderMath
We begin a new unit today called Numbers 10-19.
Today's Lesson: About 10...Count it Out

**A note from the author of this unit...
Teen numbers are no easy task for kindergarten students. You will hear the repeated term, “Ten and some extras.” It is vital when learning teen numbers that your child knows they are teen numbers for one reason only...they all contain ONE group of ten. We want to be sure your child does not think teen numbers are a and a 2.
1 and make 3 and not 12
Your child should know and be able to explain that 10 and 2 make 12, not 1 and 2.
In this unit you will hear the reference to “say ten” push ups. Say ten push ups are yet again another way students can see visually the combinations that teen numbers are made up of. They are made up of ten and some extras!
