Touch & Feel...Guess What's in the Bag?   
How do glue sticks help us learn? How do we use them? How do we take care of them?

Irish Pride
We will learn how to open/shut our locker, how to walk quietly in the hall, what the playground rules are, and bathroom etiquette. Assume nothing, teach everything!

 Each day we do the calendar, the children will be involved through the use of their 'laptop' binder pages that mirror the calendar on the SmartBoard. We will focus our calendar time on learning how to fill in these pages so we have a good handle on how to use them.

~The children will hear the story "The Kissing Hand" and make a kissing hand for you. They will each receive a copy of the book which was donated by local community members who love reading!

Today, we will revisit the cafeteria expectations with Don't Be a Lunch Monster. I hope you had a chance to reread the paper copy sent home!

~Walk in the cafeteria.
~Eat first, talk last.
~Be sure to keep your food to yourself.
~Clean up after yourself.
~Stay seated at the lunch table until an adult tells you to empty your tray.

~Late start is Tuesday, September 14...school begins at 10:15 and breakfast is not served.

The book order is due Wednesday, September 15.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kindergarten! We are in for an INCREDIBLE year of discovery and learning and I am THRILLED to be a part of it! Each day I plan to highlight the main activities in my blog so you can talk with your child about specific things that go on during their day. I will also let you know of upcoming events and reminders so it will be important to read it each day!

 

 Last year, Mr. Ronnenberg created a video about morning movers. To watch the route they take, click here. ***NOTE***  Kids do not need to wear a mask inside!

The children are learning about the routine/procedures/expectations involved during breakfast/lunch. Ask them about what a Lunch Monster does and what a Lunch Friend will do instead.

  Pete the Cat will take us on a tour around our school to see all the 'cool' places we have!
Guess What's in the Bag?   
How will crayons help us learn? How do we use them? How do we take care of them? We are learning about *All-Star* Coloring:
~Color in the lines.
~Fill in the white spaces.
~Colors that make sense.

 
The kids will spend time with Mr. Ronnenberg (Phy Ed) and Miss Shotts (Music) today. 

~Please return anything on the 'Kindergarten Checklist' as soon as possible. 
~The book order is due Wednesday, September 15.

~I realized I didn't mention about the framed family photo to send in. The idea is to make our classroom feel like a home. :)
