Phonological Awareness: Segment Words by Syllables: After singing The Itsy-Bitsy Spider a few times, we will replace the words itsy-bitsy with claps. This helps the kids 'feel' the syllables.
Language Arts: Using the Reader's Theater story We Like Fruit, the kids will echo-read to build fluency and comprehension through retelling.

Math: Measuring Shoes
Today's lesson is called Measuring Our Shoes. The kids will be using connecting cubes to measure the length of their own shoe. Their work focuses on:
~Understanding what length is.
~Repeating multiple nonstandard units (connecting cubes) to quantify length.
~Developing strategies for measuring the length of an object.

Smart Room Highlight: Tracking the Holiday Lights (colored dots on a stick)
Holding the stick in front of you, start on the left side while not moving your head to look at each colored dot. Only move your eyes!
We were treated to holiday music during lunch on Tuesday!

~Tomorrow morning we do Reindeer Games! We are looking forward to a morning full of fun followed by Santa's visit!
