Phonological Awareness: Sound DiscriminationI will say a poem that has a lot of beginning /l/ words to see if the kids pick out what sound most of the words start with.
Language Arts: Using the story, "The Three Little Pigs", the kids will work on visualizing and analyzing the characters through active engagement with the book. Watch for homework to come home today related to this lesson. Please return by Wednesday.
DAILY 5: The kids are learning a new component of DAILY 5
today called Word Work. They kids will work on letters, sounds, and the sight words. Again, they will need to build stamina for this component.

~I will post pictures tomorrow of our visit on the Science Express. The children will be on it from 8:30-9:00 this morning.~Lindsay Koenings, a dental hygiene student, will be visiting our class today. She states, "This project is for my community and dental health class. This class is
all about community out reach and teaching people of all ages the
